Silkissime liners run $8.99 but you could easily get them cheaper with coupons or promotions, but are definitely worth picking up. I really wanted 'Black', which is the most gorgeous matte pitch black (gives UD's Zero a major run for it's money) but they didn't have it and I settled for Charcoal (which I still love).
Charcoal is slightly shimmery, as seen in the swatch above. Its not totally noticeable on the eye, but its there.
Because this is an extremely creamy liner, oily eyes should prime well. Silkissime claims to wear for 16 hours and is waterproof. The waterproof part is definitely apparent, you need dual phase makeup remover to get this off. The 16 hours---well, the liner lasted about 13 looking pretty darn perfect on my eye, but I chose to take it off then.
I primed my eyes well and this stayed, but when used on the waterline, I found the creaminess smudged a bit to my lower lash line, so be aware of that. However, if you are into the smudgy look--this does that well! You have a few seconds to smudge out before it really sets.
Keep in mind that my pencil eyeliner skills lack from obvious lack of practice, but I managed a decent cat eye and the look remained all day (I'm not wearing mascara here so it would look way better with mascara ha..).
Overall, I am pleased and pleasantly surprised by L'Oreal Silkissime liner, even if I can't say the name for the life of me.
Have you tried it?
Oooo that looks like an amazing liner, I'll have to look for them next time I'm out!
ReplyDeleteThey also have a shell pink looking one that looks like it may be a great highlighter!
DeleteNice!! Must keep an eye out for a sale!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a steal if you can get it half-off!

ReplyDeleteNow that looks like a great liner! Great review! I accidentally deleted my previous comment lol
ReplyDeleteThanks Pilar :)
DeleteDefinitely reminds me of Urban Decay's pencil liners! The wear time seems pretty impressive. I'd recommend flicking the wing out with a small angled brush or any smallish flat brush - I can never get a good cat eye with pencil liner otherwise!

Oh good tip Becky, I never thought of that, thanks!!!
DeleteThese look really good! Cat eye is definitely hard, sometimes it takes an angled liner brush or a fine liner with gel for me to get it right. But I haven't worn a cat eye/flick/liner in months!! Great post!

Thank you so much Yasmeen!
DeleteThis looks amazing!! I'll have to try it because I love loreal liners. I use the loreal lineur intense liquid eye pencil and it's a really good dupe for the UD 24/7 pencils too!
ReplyDeleteOh nice!! I will have to check that one out as well!
Deleteit's awesome! idon't think i have seen it in my city, but i'm surely gonna be looking for it!
