#28daysoflippies Week Two: Instagram Round-up Pink Week!

#28daysoflippies is half over...and this week is red week! But take a look at the pinks that made my final cut!

28 days of lippies

From sheer and baby, to bold and hot, my pink lippies took over my life for Valentine's day week!

pink lip gloss

Pink Lippies:

NYX Glam Aqua Luxe in Essential $6: Super shimmery and fun for a night out.

Lóreal Colour Riche in Blushing Sequin $8: Sheer watermelon with a shiny finish.

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss $5: Mauve pink with lots of glitter.

Beautifully Disney Spell Breaker $15: True cream bubblegum pink.

POP Beauty Plump Pout Fuschia Freesia $16: Luxurious on lips and a beautiful raspberry---smells a bit weird though but it doesn't linger.

Urban Decay Revolution in Anarchy $22: Creamy and in your face hot pink.

Too Faced La Créme in Jelly Bean $22: Raspberry with a comfortable wear and pretty sheen.

There is hopefully something for everyone across the board here! Let me know if you have tried any of these!

Lipstick Queen Chinatown Glossy Pencil in Chase: Review and Swatches

The chubby lip pencil craze does not look like it will be dying down anytime soon, but recently my Ulta got in the Poppy King Lipstick Queen line and I had to try for myself the chubby balm pencil that started it all.

And I am really, really glad I did!

The shade I picked in the Chinatown Glossy Pencil was Chase, which is a gorgeous bright pink. For $22 you get the pencil and a sharpener. The packaging is also to-die for awesome; Poppy did not neglect any little detail here and for that I am appreciative!

Now, if you haven't seen the movie Chinatown, I suggest you do. Yes, now it may be a tad hipster, with everyone thinking Film Noir is awesome (because it always has been)...but I think beauty bloggers can really appreciate this film, because let's face it, we just get aesthetics.

Anyway, watch it when you can, and I promise it will make the packaging of these Glossy Pencils that much cooler.

This is the back of the packaging. I'm in love.

The actual packaging of the chubby Glossy Pencil is shiny and black, with the Lipstick Queen logo. The sharpener is similar. The fact that you have to sharpen these may be annoying to some people, but I don't mind, especially because now I have a designated sharpener for the purpose.

This is a cool detail on the back of the pencil. Fits right in with the theme of the packaging. Besides the obvious Chinatown reference, it also slightly reminds me of Bladerunner, or Firefly, but that is reference for another time.

There are a ton of pretty colors in the Glossy Pencil range, but Chase caught my eye because of the vivid pink hue. I usually gravitate towards reds, but I knew I had to have this one!

These are definitely glossy, and they feel like a slightly thicker balm on the lips. They are really comfortable to wear and can be built up in opacity, although I find a normal application is enough for stunning color. These last about 3.5 hours on me and leave my lips feeling good--not chapped at all.

This is one swipe of the Glossy Pencil on bare lips. Such a pretty color. Fades evenly as well. Smells like...well, lipstick, so nothing special there.

Overall, I think there is a reason Lipstick Queen is sometimes labeled the best at making these chubby Glossy Pencils. They really are awesome! Some may find they don't like the sharpening aspect, but if you can get over that, give these a try!

Panda Approved.

That Pop Art Vibe with Animated Nails

I've been seeing this trend done a lot in the nail blog world, so I decided to give it a try over at my nail blog, Impressionist Nails.

I loved the way they turned out, and if you want a step-by-step tutorial and a little art history about pop art, head on over to my other blog!

NYX Glam Lipstick Aqua Luxe in Essential

I am a lipstick hoarder. The first step is admitting it right?

And since Ulta is having 40 % off of NYX, Revlon, Physicians Formula and Almay this week, you should totally check out what I am about to show you, as the discount knocks the price down on this baby to around $3.

This is the new NYX Lipstick in the formula Glam Aqua Luxe in the shade Essential which is a vibrant fuchsia with purple shimmer. This is super sparkly, and is a member of the Aqua Luxe family (those glosses I recently raved about) pair nicely with this. Normally just under $5, this is currently on sale for just under $3.

The only thing I am not a fan about with this lipstick is the packaging. It looks cool from the outside to see the strip of color, but it feels too easy to open (I am scared to put this in a purse) and the plastic part looks a little cheap. I know this is bargain makeup, but NYX usually does just fine.

This color is not for the faint of heart. This is a show stopping color, and when I put it on my lips, I was shocked at how sparkly, shimmery, and fierce it is. If you like glitter, this is for you. Not really work appropriate, so this is a bit frivolous. The wear on this is a good 4 hours, and feels featherlight on the lips, and actually decently moisturizing. It does leave a host of glitter particles behind though, so beware.

This is not a thick or goopy lipstick and is fun and easy to wear. I do suggest applying with a lip brush because the glitter migrates outside of lines (or use a liner or primer).

Overall, this is a really fun addition to a makeup maven's beauty wardrobe. I would not suggest it for everyone, as this is a fun and funky item, but for $3 this week, why not try one? They come in a bunch of different colors, so get your glitter on! Not the best, but something new and different.

Price: 10/10
Performance: 8/10
Color/Wearability: 7/10
Packaging: 7/10
Overall Quality: 8/10

Total: 40/50 = B- = Meh Panda (BUT GLITTER)

Have you tried these? They would have fared so much better without the bad packaging. Are you a fan of sparkly, in your face lipsticks, or do you prefer neutrals?

FOTD: Eat, Love, Be Fab!

Hello Pandas! Here is a simple FOTD featuring mostly NYX products and the new Love in Florence: Eat, Love, Be Fab! palette.

I used the entire NYX palette on my eyes, the NYX Chocolate brown liner and L'Oreal Color Riche in Blushing Sequin.

I was really impressed with the palette, although I did a very day-friendly eye. The green is very pigmented but I blended it out to get a subtle moss shade.

This is a great look for hazel or brown eyes because it really makes them pop!

I love how this is so vibrant but so moisturising!

Here is the full look with me looking rather...bored? I have no idea why I look this way. I am also using my new NYX brow cake here, so you can see my eyebrows are definitely more red. Fun and simple look. Green and bright pink are surprisingly wearable together!

What was your favorite look that you did this week?
