NYX Butter Lipstick in Cotton Candy: Thoughts, Review, and Swatches

Many of you have seen teaser pics of my haul including one of the brand new NYX Butter Lipsticks and the review is finally here!
I have been a fan of NYX's Butter glosses, so the thought of a similar lipstick intrigued me. There is a wide range of colors, but I went against my normal shopping habits and picked out a very light pink.
With 22 shades to choose from at $5.99 there is sure to be something to please everyone. I found this at Ulta, but the displays are already running dry! And they also don't have all the colors.
NYX BUTTER LIPSTICK

The packaging of these lipsticks is cuter than their regular matte lipsticks (which have the same packaging in black), but they still look a tad little-girlish and cheap. However, the color makes it easy to find in your stash.

The smell of these is slightly sweet and a bit artificial, but you really have to sniff them to pick up on that. The formula of these is actually really nice. These are buttery and glide onto the lips well, providing a nice opacity of coverage.

Cotton Candy is a very very light baby pink, so be aware of that, since it looks much darker than it appears on the lips. For this color, prep lips well. Other, darker colors in this line seem to be much more swipe and go.

Cotton Candy gives my pout a very springy and mod vibe. Butter Lipsticks are comfortable to wear, but only last me about 2 and a half hours. I just find them a little too light to really stick around, but I've never been one to mind reapplying a lip product on normal, non special event days.

Keep in mind, this wear time may only be for the lighter colors. I am hoping to pick up a darker shade to compare.

Overall, I think NYX Butter Lipsticks are a great product at a nice price point and I have been reaching for Cotton Candy often since I have picked it up!

Have you tried any of the NYX Butter Lipsticks? Thoughts?

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Native: Swatches and Review

To go with my two new Revolution lipsticks, I picked up the 24/7 Glide-on Lip Pencil in Native ($19).

Native is a pretty natural light pink to match the Revolution lipstick of the same namesake. The formula of this is not exactly as creamy as the lipstick though. It does glide-on but looks slightly chalky on lips. However, I won't be wearing this alone, and it performs and looks just fine under lipstick.

This is a pencil you have to sharpen yourself, which doesn't bother me, but since the formula is pretty soft, have a sharpener dedicated to this product or similar colored lip liners.

This is VERY matte, hence its not exactly the most flattering on lips alone, but I do find the matte formula keeps lipstick on much longer. I think this is a great product and it lends a hint more pigmentation to the 'Native' lipstick, giving me full mod-60's lips. Love it.

I really want to check out some of the other 24/7 Glide-on pencils, as they perform great. Unless you are getting 'Native' lipstick though, I would pass on this one.

M.A.C Archie's Girls: Betty Lipglass in Stay Sweet

M.A.C Archie's Girls! I just had to get something before they were all sold out at my local Nordstroms counter!

M.A.C Archie's Girls Collection lipglass from the Betty line called Stay Sweet! It is a very light mod opaque pink with the typical lipglass formula: yummy vanilla smell and sticky texture that lasts a long time. This retails for $16.50 if you hurry!

First of all, the packaging of this line is to die for. This is for any one who is a fan of Betty, Veronica, or Archie, M.A.C in general, or anyone looking for the hot look of the Spring--mod pink lips. This is surprisingly easy to wear. Swipe on a ton for a super 60's look or sheer out for an easy everyday lip!

As you can see, the gloss is very shiny and opaque, I love the look! For more depth layer it over liner or lipstick.

Here it is on my lips sheered out. You don't have to go full mod to make this wearable! Lasts about 3 hours.

I love this lipglass!! Such a fun color from a cool collection!

Price: 7/10

Performance: 10/10

Color/Wearability: 9/10

Packaging: 10/10

Overall Quality: 9/10

Total: 45/50 = A- = Happy Panda!

What do you have from the Archie's Girls collection?
