Metametics Polish Has My Heart!

Hi Lovelies!

So this is my first indie polish post. I decided to check out Etsy to find something similar to the infamous "Connect the Dots" polish that is so coveted. I found 'Metametics'. Visit her Etsy shop here.

These are 3 free, hand-mixed polished made "by geeks for geeks". Oh, true love does exist.

These are mini bottles ($4 each) and she has collections ranging from Sherlock Holmes to Avengers. Perfect. I love her little labeling even on the mini bottles.

First up -- Blood & Snow

"Blood & Snow" is inspired by Game of Thrones. It is white large glitter in a clear base with red glitter and bars smattered throughout. It reminds me of Snow White and the Huntsman as well. Gorgeous. This was my replacement for "connect the dots".

To show you guys the color better, it is one coat alone on my left nail. One coat over ORLY 'Grave Mistake' in the middle, and one coat over Sally Hansen 'White On' on the right. It looks good over all three, depending on what you are going for. This would look good over blue for a festive 4th mani, or over black for something goth-chic.

Okay, I am obsessed with this color. Like, I want to bathe in it and come out all glittery and red and white. It is a gorgeous idea that turned out well.

Continue on after the jump for the Sherlock inspired polish!

Here is, "Honey you should see me in a crown". This gorgeous gem was inspired by the BBC Sherlock series and I just love the color and the idea behind it. The name of the polish nearly sold me itself. It is a red jelly base with gold large glitter.

This polish is more understated than Blood & Snow, but no less gorgeous. The result of two coats looks like a jelly sandwich* without all the fuss. Can you say cool?

*For the nail inexperienced a jelly sandwich is a base coat of a jelly-finish polish, a glitter coat, then topped with the jelly again.

It is lovely and a unique color in my stash (which is hard to do). I am just a happy camper right now.

Final Thoughts: Are you a geek? Do you like quality 3 free polish? Love frankens? Love fast shipping and Etsy? Heck, do you love air? Get this polish you won't regret it.

Price: 9/10
Staying Power: 9/10
Packaging: 10/10
Color/Wearability: 10/10
Quality/Branding: 10/10

Total: 48/50 = A+ = Pandamonium!

What do you think of Metametics? Tried them? Are going to? Tell me!

Do you have a fave indie polish brand?

Let the Victorian Disco Swatching Spree Begin

Hello!

If I could make my own line of make up, I would probably name all of my shadows and lippies after Art History type things, like Manet paintings. Or I would name them after Star Wars. What is that you say? There is already someone who does that?

Yes folks, my dream has come true in Victorian Disco Cosmetics.

When I found out about them, I had to place an order instantly. I ordered almost every "Star Wars" themed shade, although the company does not have the rights to the films or anything of that sort.

They arrived like this...

How cute is that? They shipped very fast and I ordered little sample baggies to try everything out. I am so excited to bring you these swatches!

I will be breaking these posts up by color theme so as not to drown you in pretty. :)

The four I will show you today are "Youngling" "Forest Moon" "R2" and "Lightsaber" They are gorgeous greens, blues, and purples. The cool range.

Youngling is a wonderful lilac color. It has all the innocence of a young padawan learner with a little bit of shimmer.

Is this not amazing? Just a little goes a long way, the consistency is so smooth and buttery for a loose powder and it blends like a dream. I am in love already.

I wanted to post a picture of what inspired each shadow. Just because I love Star Wars that much. It is a disease.

With only a little bit of the sample baggie, the shadow is nice and opaque in one swatch. I love the cool tones of this.

See the other three after the jump!

Forest Moon is a gorgeous light green. It is slightly minty which is really on-trend and fresh for summer.

The micro-gold shimmer is amazing in this shadow, warming it up just a bit. Once again the payoff is amazing.

Endor!! I can definitely see the inspiration here.

Is this not so absolutely stunning. I promise I am not endorsed here, just really impressed!

Lightsaber is a rich, matte cobalt. I was very interested to see how this would perform against other mattes I have tried lately.

I am not blown away by it,  but it performs much better than most with just a little bit of product. Although it blends into the skin, the vibrancy is kept.

It looks just like Luke's lightsaber! Yay!

Here you can see how it fades into the skin once you blend it, but it is still a cool color. My least fave of the group though.

R2 is the last shadow I have for you in this post. It is a pretty, shimmery, medium blue.

The depth and shimmer to this is lovely. I would use this as a wash of color all over my lid. I don't care if it would look bad or totally 80's. It is so cool.

Oh R2, love that little mischievous droid!

Well this concludes the first bout of epic Victorian Disco swatches. More to come! And looks too!

Final Thoughts:

Price: 9/10
Staying Power: 9/10
Packaging: N/A
Color/Wearability: 10/10
Quality/Branding: 10/10

Total: 38/40 = A+ = Pandamonium!

What do you think? Have you tried Victorian Disco Cosmetics? Love Star Wars?

Lady Bug Jane Chapsticks

Lady bugs are really summery, right? I have great memories of playing in my backyard and looking for the little bugs to make wishes on as they flew away.

I happened to be given two 'Lady Bug Jane Flavor Balms' recently and wanted to try them out for a review!

Having no idea who Lady Big Jane was, I decided to investigate, and found her to be an animated children's character created to make kids aware of being eco-friendly. Cool. You can see her here.

The two flavors I received were Vanilla Cupcake and Sweet Strawberry. They retail for $3.99 each and are clear, colorless balms.

These may seem like nothing special right now...but here is what the website lists about them:

They are:

Gluten free
Nut Free
Have no petroleum
Are organic
Fair trade and cruelty free
Have a natural SPF
No dyes, no cetyl alcohol
Paraben and Phathalate free
Have no oxy-benzone
Non-toxic
Made in the USA

As you can see, they are colorless. The smells are pretty incredible though. Not too sugary or fake. Just yummy. They lasted about an hour and a half on my lips and are so moisturizing.

Final Thoughts:

Price: 7/10
Staying Power: 8/10
Packaging: 9/10
Color/Wearability: 9/10
Quality/Branding: 10/10

Total: 43/50 = B = Pretty Panda

If you are interested in these balms, buy some here! I think they are a great product to get behind and support. If you click that link, be aware that I do not get any compensation from it, and I was not paid for this review.

What is the best 'indie' chapstick you have tried?
