Franken Tuesday: Lady Sybil Branson

Happy Franken Tuesday...almost made it...still Tuesday here!

Back to Downton Abbey! I am having major withdrawals, but here is a polish to try and get us all out of that funk. This is called Lady Sybil Branson.

And here is the darling couple. I love that Lady Sybil is so different from her sisters. She has a big heart and knows that love is love, no matter who it is between.

I put two coats of this glitter on my ring and middle fingers with two coats of Sally Hansen Pink Satin (a metallic purple/rose) on ever other finger.

This is really not a complex polish. Very tiny lilac/rose glitter and larger teal hex glitter make up a fun, girly, but decidedly different polish fit for Sybil.

I love the way this looks!! So adorable. I am just loving the glitter bombs. Always remember the pvc glue method or risk scrubbing forever!

Only 2 more frankens left and the contest is ending soon. Enter Enter ENTER

I promise you won't be sorry!!

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

Franken...er...Thursday? Lady Mary Crawley

So, have you ever had that moment when you are so busy where you literally forget what day it is? That has been my life lately. And I missed Franken Tuesday. So, I bring you Franken Thursday!

This week's polish is back to the Downton Abbey theme, because I am having withdrawals. Is anyone else missing it?

This polish was inspired by Lady Mary Crawley, the eldest and favorite daughter of Downton. She is so gorgeous and so is Michelle Dockery...so this polish had to be as rich, sophisticated, and sassy...like Mary.

Although sometimes she favors powder blue, Mary is often seen wearing jewel tones or black throughout the series, and is always impeccably dressed.

Lady Mary Crawley is a combination of masses of fine purple glitter, emerald green square glitter, and a small amount of red hex glitter for a pop. It is simple but gorgeous.

Here is macro bottle shot.

This is two coats on every other nail. No base. I set it off with Butter London British Racing Green on the other nails for a truly decadent look.

What do you think of the polish inspired by Lady Mary? Do you want to have a chance to design your own nail polish? You do? Well...enter my contest HERE!

Good luck!

Franken Tuesday! Anna's Mistah Bates

It is Tuesday again, and that means the debut of another franken!

If you watch Downton Abbey, you will know that Mr. Bates is finally back! This was my manicure over the weekend to show my love for him as well as test out my studs from the Born Pretty Store!

This polish was obviously inspired by Mr. and Mrs. Bates. I named it Anna's Mistah Bates because I love the way she calls him mistaaah, and draws it out all long. Adorable.

This is three coats of Anna's Mistah Bates on bare nails. On my ring finger is two coats of Pixel Polish black with Born Pretty Store studs on top!

Anna's Mistah Bates started with clear suspension base and then lots of white and black hex glitter of the same small size. There is also black small bar glitter and a hint of gold hex glitter.

The huge amount of black glitter in the polish bled slightly (which was what I hoped for) and created this pretty grey jelly base! I love it.

Since Anna and Bates are always dressed in their black servants' wear, this was inspired by their monochrome look. It is fun and understated.

What do you think of this Tuesday's polish?

Franken Tuesday! Lady Edith Crawley

So, if you have been keeping up with the blog, you know that I recently made 10 franken polishes of my own and promised to show you them. Here is the first installment of the aftermath of the project, which will come on Tuesdays!

Frankens are really fun to make and as you will soon discover, mine were inspired by and named after some of the characters of my favorite shows and movies.

The first of the ten was inspired by Lady Edith Crawley on Downton Abbey

Lady Edith gets a bad rap in my opinion. No one likes her! However, she happens to be my favorite Crawley sister. She looks for love in all the wrong places, tries her best to be independent, and loves new styles.

This is how the polish turned out! Click past the jump to see detailed pics!

I was inspired by the pastels Edith wears and the color of her hair. This mix has hexagonal white matte glitter, large square matte baby pink glitter, gold hex glitter and gold bar glitter in a clear suspension base.

Here is Lady Edith Crawley layered over Julep's Sally, which is a yellow-ish cream that went well with the gold and pink.

In regards to Julep's Sally, here is a quick review. The texture on this is weird...I tried to apply two thin coats but the formula is so thick that didn't happen...and it took an hour and a half to dry, which is really unacceptable. Julep's formulations have been hit or miss lately. This is from their February Maven box. Cool color (although it clashes a bit on my rosy skin tone) but bad formula.

I think this polish is demure enough for any fancy dinner party occasion. It doesn't scream glitter, but it is girly and one of my favorites that I made.

What do you think of my first franken? Excited to see the other 9? Would you wear this? Do you watch Downton?
