Love + Toast Handcreams: Quick Review

Hey Pandas! Just want to show you one of my new favorite treats/brands available at Ulta! 

 Love + Toast is a new brand of bath/lotions that I am obsessed with. They have a fun/vintage/kitschy vibe of their packaging and smell heavenly. I recently picked up two scents in their handcream for $8 each. Their handcreams are formulated with shea, macademia, olive, and fruit butters and avocado and sunflower oil. They are super moisturizing and are paraben free as well as cruelty-free! I love it! Sugar Grapefruit (pink tube) is very fresh. You can really smell the grapefruit extract and it is slightly sweetened but not artificially, almost like the sugar-in-the raw smell. Delish! Honey Coconut (blue tube) is very light, a little floral, but it does have the distinct gourmand notes of honey and coconut. Try them out if you pass them in Ulta!

Olay Fresh Effects Long Live Moisture Satin Finish Lotion

Hi Pandas! Just because it is summer time, it doesn't mean that you don't still need moisturizer! Even though all skin types are prone to oily-ness in hotter months, the more you deprive your skin of moisture, the more oil they create to compensate! 

 

Olay recently launched some new skin care that has fun, bright packaging that I assume is supposed to attract and cater to the 20-something set. Well, it worked. I bought it!

 

Long Live Moisture is a satin finish moisturizer that comes in a long, skinny pump tube. I had no problems with the packaging, and it is even cute enough to leave out on a vanity. This is a hybrid lotion/gel and is oil-free and non-comedogenic.

 

 

I actually really like the texture. It spreads easily and feels weightless. The satin finish doesn't bother me either, as I put makeup on over it, so any shine will be covered.

 

 

It soaks into skin very fast, leaves a healthy sheen and has a very light scent that disappears after a few seconds and doesn't bother my super sensitive nose. I am glad Olay didn't give this a laundry list of things to do, as it is just a simple moisturizer. It is cute, it is fairly reasonable at about $10, and it moisturizes my oily/combo skin well, doesn't pill, and makes my complexion look better. I have been using this for a few weeks now with no negative side-effects and better looking skin!

 

All in all, I am intrigued by this new Fresh Effects line. Have you tried it?

This winter is shaping up to be the coldest California has had in a while, and I have no doubt it is much colder everywhere else. So moisturizing is key. I have been looking for good hand and cuticle care forever. Have I found it with OPI Avojuice lotions?

Cran & Berry: Strawberries, raspberries, and cranberries all around.

Peppermint Shimmer: Minty fresh! This one has a light shimmer to it!

If you have rough hands or ragged cuticles, these pint sized wonders will make moisturizing much more convenient and easy. The scents are not overpowering, and there is one to fit every mood. The lotion also sinks in rapidly and feel silky, not greasy. The biggest area of improvement in the cuticles.

I am excited to show you guys my little baby 'Charity Pot'. If you know Lush cosmetics, you will know what I am talking about. If you don't... read on!

They make this bad boy in a much larger size, but this little guy is 1.6 oz and costs $5. One hundred percent of the proceeds for ths lotion go to 350.org and the Dogwood initiative to stop the expansion of a pipeline through North America. The SA was super knowledgable and told me all about how this would be so bad for our environment, and only create about 20 jobs in the long run. So not worth it!

This really does a great job as a moisturizer. Am I a fan of the smell? No. It isn't my cup of tea. It is very heavy, floral, and slightly musky. I will still use it because it doesn't make me sneeze too badly and I believe in the charity it goes to. Plus, it is a great lotion in general.
