Now, I know many of you may not be traveling to Hong Kong in the near future, but I wanted to show you the staples of my makeup bag while I was there. Hong Kong's weather is very much like the southern United States in the summer---hot and very humid (think 85 degrees F and up, and up to 90% humidity daily). In fact, the weather is like any tropical region as well-- including Hawaii, so if you are hitting up a humid spot this summer, this just might come in handy!
1. It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin ($18): I received this free with an Ulta order (you can pretty much get this free at Ulta all the time) and a few spritzes made my hair look awesome, even with the crappy hotel blow dryer and the crazy humidity.
2. Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Apricot ($4.99): This perfect peachy color and thin tube meant I could stick this in a pocket and I never looked overdone during the daytime of crazy touristy things!
3. Benefit Gimme Brown in Light/Medium ($22): A no fuss tinted brow gel that kept me polished for nice dinners out but never smudged or ran, even when I was 'glistening'.
4. bareMinerals Ready blush in The French Kiss ($22): Great staying power and a universally flattering color!
5. Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream ($35): A larger review of this will be up soon, but this kept me looking gorgeous (and people complimented my skin) even when it started pouring with monsoon-status rains.
6. NYX Collection Noir Liquid Black Liner ($5.99): Has officially made holy grail status as a black liner for me, especially since it withstood extreme humidity for up to 15 hours straight.
7. Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm in Grapefruit ($7.50): With SPF 25 and a cheery scent, it wasn't so hard to perk up from the jet lag with this.
8. NYX Matte Blotting Paper ($3.99): Blotting papers are a must in weather like Hong Kong's, and these are my favorite!
The Hong Kong photos are beautiful! This is a great post Margo! I love the it's a 10 leave in spray! Def one of my holy grail products!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley! I am so glad I have so many samples of it's a 10 lying around! But I will totally be buying it when I run out!
DeleteAwesome products! All of these will definitely keep things in place when its hot.

Definitely, I was the only one that didn't have all my makeup sweat off!
DeleteLove the pics! So, I need to hear about the Clinique CC Cream! I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like I need to!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think you will like it! Review will be up this weekend :)
DeleteI want to hear about the CC cream, too!
ReplyDeleteYay! The review will be up this weekend!
Delete90% humidity is a serious NO GO for miranda's hair!
ReplyDeleteAww, yeah it was a rough hair day for everyone there!
DeleteYour pics of Hong Kong are stunning! I give up on my hair in humid weather...
ReplyDeleteThanks Ingrid! I figured we all were a bit frizzy there so I didn't care too much! :)
DeleteBlotting papers - definitely a must in a humid place.

Oh I totally agree Kate!
DeleteNice list! I really do have to check out that Jack Black balm one of these days. For hot weather, I ABSOLUTELY need a hair tie. So miserable without something to keep the hair out of my face and off my neck! Oh, and love that night shot of the city :)
ReplyDeleteThanks MM! I think you would love the Jack Black. It was funny because at least 5 other girls had one with them on the trip as well!
DeleteGreat picks dear. I am very eager to see your reviews on Clinique CC cream. I love Estee lauder foundation for hot weather and use it over a sunscreen. Happy weekend :-)

DeleteNice list and pics Margo! It looks like you had a nice time!
ReplyDeleteI did, thanks so much Pilar!
Deletei had no idea about the weather there! i'd be set since it's so hot here in GA
ReplyDeleteI've been to GA in the summer and it is VERY similar in Hong Kong!
DeleteYeah, damn heat + humidity! Looks like you're prepared though. A total essential for hot and humid weather for me is a good mattifying powder. And maybe a refreshing thermal water mist.
ReplyDeleteYes, I forgot to bring a water mist!! Good call!
