Let's Talk Eye Care

Besides a neck cream, I also needed an eye cream. I have been using Clinique's All About Eyes, but wanted something to ease and prevent fine lines...sadly, I have a few already. So, I looked into Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Cream ($11.99). As far as drugstore brands go, I trust Neutrogena. They have science that makes sense; I like that.

One of the main draws for me for this eye cream was that it deals with the three things I need: fine lines, moisture, and firmness. It is also fragrance free, which was a must for me, as my eyes are very sensitive.

One of my favorite things about this eye cream is the applicator. Instead of just a tip, the tip flares out, which creates a perfect dollop of product every time. At least that is what I experience the benefit to be, but if you know why else you would want an applicator like this, let me know!

A dollop of this size is perfect for both under eyes and outer upper lids (I place a bit on my browbones as well). It also wears beautifully under makeup and does not irritate anything. I have been using this for two weeks and my fine lines around my eyes are starting to become a bit blurry, but the real noticeable difference is in the moisture level of my under eye.

Do I think this is a HG eye cream? No. But it does what it says for my younger eyes and I hope it continues to impress me down the road.

Here are my tips for healthy eyes:

1. Don't rub! If you have allergies, get eye drops, or try and soothe them in another way (take off your makeup/cool compress) because that rubbing creates fine lines! Trust me, I have major allergies and was a eye rubber up until recently.

2. Remove makeup gently. Plan ahead so that you do not feel the need to scrub at your eyelids because you are in a hurry. Also, use waterproof makeup remover, or a dual-phase product. Gently press the product on a cotton pad against your eye and gently massage. Don't force the issue!

3. Sunscreen and sunglasses---enough said!

4. Careful what you put on your eyes and how you apply it. Seriously ladies and gentlemen, we are above buying scratchy no-name eyeliners. That stuff is not good for that delicate tissue! Be careful and don't use anything that tugs or pulls.

5. Eye cream. Whether it be this one or your own favorite, find one now and pat it on twice daily. Your future self will thank you!

Face and Outfit of the Day!

Today is really important. Firstly, because it is my first day experimenting with makeup and my new red hair. Secondly, it is Gary Oldman's birthday...my ultimate British celeb crush and genuinely awesome guy. So, here is my OOTD and FOTD to celebrate!

Here is your cheat sheet for my look today.

1) Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup in Shade 01 (N). $26. I patted this all over my face and pressed it in with warm fingers. The consistency is drier, so this method works for me.

2) NYX Are You DepEYEved Mascara $8 and NYX Natural Palette $7. I used the lightest shade in the palette all over my eye and contoured with the middle tan shade and the light grey shade. One coat of mascara on my top and bottom lashes.

3) M.A.C. Pearl Blossom Beauty Powder from the Barbie collection (oldie but goodie, shopping the stash here).

4) Revlon PhotoReady pressed translucent powder in shade 001. $8. I blotted this with a big kabuki brush all over my face to set foundation and blush.

5) Neutrogena Skinclearing Blemish Concealer in Fair. $7. I dotted this on two trouble spots and blotted again with the powder.

6) To conceal my dark circles I used Clinique All About Eyes concealer in 01 Light Neutral (the match for my foundation although it does pull more yellow) $16. I used a concealer brush to pat this under my eyes.

7) Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser $10 went on top of the concealer to airbrush and add the protective benefits and the Vitamin C to keep my eyes looking bright all day.

8) Babylips Peach Kiss to balance out my look with nude/peach hydration.

9) The final step was lining my eyes with Sephora Flashy Liner in Flashy Ultra Green. $12. Pantone's shade of the year--emerald! I think it goes well with the red hair and doesn't make me look like too much of a leprechaun!

Just a light, thick line on my upper lid with a very small wing-out did the trick!

Here is the foundation, beauty powder, and babylips at work!

And here is the whole look including my awesome shirt (hence my OOTD, or half of it anyway) the many faces of Gary Oldman. You can buy your own at Society6.com (I am not affiliated and I bought this with my own money). It is really cool because it has everything from Sid Vicious to Jim Gordon! I also wore my Sirius Black necklace from Etsy, all to celebrate his B-Day!

So happy birthday to the flawless Gary, and I hope you enjoyed this FOTD and sneak peek at my cool shirt!

Neutrogena Skin Clearing Blemish Concealer

Hey Pandas! If you have acne prone skin, you are going to love this product! It has become a Holy Grail staple in my make up bag!

This is the Neutrogena SkinClearing blemish concealer in 05 Fair. It has Microclear technology to help clear up troublesome spots while you look flawless! It retails for about $6.99 at Ulta, Target, and other drugstores.

I just dab this on before my foundation and let it sink in for a minute. Your foundation should even it out, but if not, pat with your ring finger to blend. You will feel it tingling and working, which I love! If you want, carry it in your purse and spot treat throughout the day!

This has .5% Salicylic Acid, which works well for most people. Start off with once a day and progress from there! This really is an amazing product!

If you get the occasional spot and do not want to clog it back up with normal concealer, check this out!

Price: 9/10
Performance: 10/10
Color/Wearability: 9/10
Packaging: 9/10 (click up style)
Overall Quality: 9/10

Total: 46/50 = A- = Happy Panda!!

Have you tried it? Love it? Tell me!
