NYX Love in Paris: Be Our Guest Maurice

Okay, here is a nod to all of you Beauty and the Beast fans! Fun fact..."Be Our Guest" was originally written to be sung to Maurice when he enters the castle, but Belle got the special treatment instead.

Now that you know this, don't you feel like you have to have this palette? I did! Go NYX!

This is a NYX Love in Paris palette called Be Our Guest Maurice and features 9 shadows, mostly purples and smokey shades. It retails for $10 at Ulta.

I can't get over the cuteness of these palettes. The colors, the names, the cute bow closure. Win!

Shade 1: Dark purple with red glitter
Shade 2: Pink shimmer, rose tone
Shade 3: Pink toned lilac shimmer with silver glitter
Shade 4: True white shimmer
Shade 5: Violet shimmer
Shade 6: Gunmetal shimmer
Shade 7: Gold/rose shimmer
Shade 8: Warm brown shimmer
Shade 9: Matte black

Here are all the colors swatched basically in order on my hand, the last three are on the top and bottom horizontally. Most are pretty opaque and some are better than others, but all around, this is a good palette for a purple smokey eye. I love it!

What NYX palettes have you tried? Do you love Beauty and the Beast?

Let Them Eat Cake

Another NYX Love in Paris palette! I adore these! So, merci NYX for making them!

This is the NYX Love in Paris palette in Let Them Eat Cake which features a range of pinks and browns, clearly inspired by Marie Antoinette and her confectionery phrase. Adorable and affordable at $10. Also cruelty-free!

I love the sleek design of these palettes, making them easy to store and stack, and the see-through casing allows you to glance at the shadows quickly. And how I do love the names! This is adorable and I love how they are color coordinated. These shadows all go together, and wear beautifully for hours.

The shades: (from top left to bottom right) A matte chocolate brown, a sparkly burnt orange, a pale dusty pink, a matte cream, a shimmery coral sorbet, sparkly dark chocolate, matte light brown, bubblegum pink, and matte light pink.

I tried to cram all the swatches together. They are nice on the hand but better on the eye. Not the best pigmentation, but impressive for the colors and the price. The palettes also include a double ended sponge brush. Not amazing, but useful on the go.

Let Them Eat Cake is a great warm-toned pink and brown palette to make you feel sugary and sweet. Love it! Very wearable.

Price: 9/10
Performance: 9/10
Color/Wearability: 910
Packaging: 10/10
Overall Quality: 9/10

Total: 46/50 = A- = Happy Panda

So what do you think? Let Them Eat Cake? Or not so much?

Love Affair with Louis

I have a few of the new NYX Love in Paris palettes, and I really do love them! You have to check them out!

This is the NYX Love in Paris palette in Love Affair with Louis. It is a blue toned palette in a sleek black case with a bow closure. Adorable! This is $10, and has 9 shadows, which is a great deal if you break it down!

I am a sucker for themed palettes, or collections. So naturally, I love this. I love the name and how Louis XVI is synonymous with this blue tone. The whole time period seems to be just swathed in these shades, and I love it!

The shades: (Top left to bottom right) A light mint shimmer, a Cinderella-esque blue, a grey-toned blue shimmer, a frosty white, a teal, a light ocean blue with light blue sparkly, a true silver, a royal blue, a shimmery black.

Here are all the shades on my hand. They kind of go in order and then I just tried to make them fit. But they are all pretty decently pigmented for the price. This is with no primer, but they wear so much brighter with primer.

I am definitely having a Love Affair with Louis. Thanks NYX! Remember, these are cruelty free as well. Great palette to provide you with all the blues you would ever need! However, people may be intimidated by blues and these aren't for everyday, so it makes this a splurge.

Price: 9/10
Performance: 8/10
Color/Wearability: 8/10
Packaging: 10/10
Overall Quality: 8/10

Total: 43/50 = B = Pleased Panda!

I LOVE this palette, but the blues are hard to wear except for accents, so this isn't a must unless you just can't keep your grabby hands away!
