Lipstick Queen Big Bang Theory Gloss in Energy: Swatches and Review

Okay...I was lured into this gloss the second I saw it. It was red, sparkly, had an interesting shape, is space-themed, and by Lipstick Queen...oh and did I mention it was red?

Yeah, just the first criteria alone did it for me. I was a lost cause.

But did I get blinded my the galactic light?

*Note there is a little discrepancy as the packaging says Big Bang Illusion, but it is marketed as Big Bang Theory gloss...*

This gloss comes in 8 gorgeous colors for $22 and every one is named after a part of Poppy King's 'Big Bang Theory' about fuller lips.

Basically, this gloss is supposed to give you the full, pouty lips your long for without the stinging, tingling, or burning of other actual plumping glosses.

The packing is really sleek and pretty, but a little on the awkward side as the wand is very long and the doe foot brush is very small. This gives you great control, but it doesn't pick up much product, so I had to go back a few times to get full coverage on my lips.

I have to say, I was a little teensy bit disappointed when I swatched Energy for the first time. In the tube, it looks like a metallic red, blow-my-mind-away sparkle galaxy extravaganza. But on my hand...just...eh?

On my lips...pretty, but lacking the wow factor I craved. However, I won't write this gloss totally off. It truly does make my lips look full and moisturized. It was also comfortable to wear once I got enough on my lips, had decent staying power (a couple of hours), and was very shiny.

Overall...Lipstick Queen Big Bang Theory Illusion Gloss didn't blow me away with the red option (but I do have high standards when it comes to reds now, since I have too many to count); however, I will be checking out their neutral colors. I think I was too caught up in the look of the red to realize that the nude shades we pretty as well and probably really do the formula more justice.

If you are looking for a solid red gloss---Energy is for you, but if you have an arsenal of red lipsticks and glosses, this is nothing out of the ordinary.

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense: Mighty Maraschino

Clinique Chubby Stick balms are pretty amazing, but the Chubby Stick Intense takes it to a whole other level!

The Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Color Balm is not exceedingly new to the beauty scene, but I have heard raves about Mighty Maraschino, and being a red lip girl, had to try it!

One of the things I love about this product in general is that it is a twist up chubby pencil, making it very easy to define lips, especially with such an intense color.

This is described by Clinique as a "true classic red" and it falls, for me, on the average-above average range of opacity and honestly, leans a bit hot pink. This is shiny and moisturizing and for $16, you get a product that is good for your lips and hydrates them well.

I love the feeling of this on my lips and the red is easier to wear than more matte versions. You can also dilute the intensity by patting it on with fingertips, and if red doesn't do it for you, the Intense line has 7 other gorgeous shades.

I reach for my Chubby Stick Intense often and it lasts as long as a gloss would, a few hours, but my lips always feel moisturized after!

Panda Approved.

Have you tried any of the Chubby Stick Intense shades yet?

Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss in Game Changer: Swatches and Review

I'm all about a red lip, and it is my favorite lip color to wear, so of course I had to check it out in the new Marvelous Moxie formula by bareMinerals!

Game Changer ($18) is a glossy true red that is vibrant, beautiful, and classic.

I also love the packaging of the Marvelous Moxie glosses. The tubes are sturdy and chic looking and the cap is angled a bit, which is unique. I also have to comment on the smell, which is that of a chocolate mint, and is amazing!

The applicator is large and angled with a small tip so you can cover a lot of surface area, but still keep precision. I think it works well for the glossy, slightly tacky formula.

This color is nearly opaque, but still has a glossy jelly-ness to it that is fresh and not too harsh. Anyone can wear this red lip! The formula is also infused with antioxidants, so it is good for your lips!

I think this gloss is an easy way to look polished and put-together. It is not too sticky that it is bothersome (not like MAC lipglass) but it does stay put for around 5 hours.

Panda Approved.

Are you a fan of the Moxie line? Any favorite colors?
