Filthy Farmgirl Soap and Balm

While on vacation, I tried to look for unique beauty products, and found the bold, brash, but hilariously funny line Filthy Farmgirl all over the island. They make soaps for men and women (and your furry friends!) and balms, all of which are handmade in Hawaii. What is not to love?

If you are easily offended, read no further, but if you want a good laugh...keep on my friends!

The soap I picked up (my mother and gma bought about 10 total between them as gifts for friends) is called Filthy Hooker Soap because it smells divine and I could not stop giggling at the name (go to their website and have a good laugh if you want at all the awesome names).

The small bars are $4, like this one, and large are $8, which is a great deal for all the goodness that are inside of them. This smells like fall to me, with cinnamon and hot cider! Yum!

Ingredients: Saponified Coconut oil, Saponified Palm oil, Saponified Castor oil, Saponified Safflower oil, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Purified Water, Cinnamon Essential Oil, Hawaiian Honey, Ground Oats, Vanilla powder, Sorbital, Sorbitan oleate, Soy protein. Not tested on animals, no yucky stuff!

That is straight from their website and the soaps are 100% natural! Plus they work great and smell amazing.

The Hawaiian Vanilla Smoochie Lip Balm ($4) was my other purchase, and I love it! The vanilla scent and flavor is soft and not artificial, comes in adorable packaging, and is totally natural.

I love that the balm is a oval shape because it mimics the shape of my lips and glides on easy. This is seriously an amazing balm and I am so impressed with this line of products. And shipping is FREE so if this is right up your alley, check them out at Filthyfarmgirl.com!

NYX Natural Palette: Swatches and Review

We all know that Urban Decay's Naked palettes are the industry standard right now when it comes to nude shades. Most brands have tried their hand at a copycat, and a lot of cheaper brands have as well. NYX is a brand I love and feature a lot here because they are relatively inexpensive, good quality, and cruelty-free. They recently released a natural palette. Let's see how it fares!

This is the NYX Natural Palette which retails for about $8, and features 6 decently sized shadows in matte and shimmer finishes along with a dual ended sponge brush.

I personally do not have any of the Naked Palettes, but this is for a girl who is looking for something similar on a budget (like myself). Easy to travel with and good for everyday looks. Now let us proceed to the swatches!

The far right shadow is a creamy white, basically matte in nature. The middle shadow is a true cream shimmer. The third shadow is a nude that leans slightly pink, also matte.

These first three shades were hard to capture. My skin is so pale and the first and third shades blend right in. They are pigmented, but will not give you much color. They are good to smooth out any discoloration on the eyelid and proceed from there. The middle shade is really nice and is a good brow bone shade.

The shade on the right is a yellow-based nude shimmer. The middle shade is a medium brown shimmer that leans slightly pink. The far right shadow is a dark brown. It appears to have some shimmer in the packaging, but swatches matte.

These were the better performers of the 6 and are good colors to have on hand. As far as the entire palette goes, you can create a very light look with the first three shadows, or a night look with the last three. Or combine to your heart's content.

Unfortunately, I am not sure who this would work best for overall, as far as skin tones go. I am very pale and the last three shades look great on me, but the first three really do not add much color. I could see the lighter shades possibly working better on other skin tones, but you will have to try it and see! Overall, I like this palette. I do not have the UD sets to compare to, but the quality is here and the price is right.

Price: 9/10
Performance: 9/10
Color/Wearability: 8/10
Packaging: 9/10
Overall Quality: 9/10

Total: 44/50 = B+ = Pleased Panda

What do you think of this palette? Will you check it out or do you have enough neutrals in your stash?

EOS Alice in Wonderland Trio

Hello Pandas!

This is my first post with my new format, hope you guys like it! Today I want to show you how brands can mix wonderfully.

Alice in Wonderland balm Trio by EOS. For around $10, you get three new flavors of EOS balm in special Alice themed packaging and Mickey ears imprinted on the spheres. Super cool! The balms are also 100% natural and 95% organic. They also have shea and jojoba oil to keep lips looking their best in this cold weather (yes, even in California!).

The three flavors are:

Watermelon Wonderland: Smells a little artificial, like watermelon sour candy. But fun and yummy!

Sweet Vanilla Nonsense: Vanilla with some hints of caramel and something floral.

Blueberry Potion: The best of the three. Like a fresh blueberry muffin!

This set is for anyone that loves Disney. It made a great stocking stuffer for the holidays, and is still available at ULTA and Target. If you need EOS balms, this is a great way to stock up cost efficiently too!

This is the same EOS formula you know and love, in three yummy new flavors. I wasn't a huge fan of EOS at first ( I still prefer baby lips) but these do the job and smell much better!

Price: 9/10

Performance: 8/10

Color/Wearability: 10/10

Packaging: 10/10

Overall Quality: 9/10

Total: 46/50 = A- = Happy Panda!

Do you love EOS? Love Alice in Wonderland? What do you think of this cute set?

Burt's Bees Cherry Lip Shimmer

I love Burt's Bees. They make products that are 100% natural and have the cruelty-free seal from PETA printed on the labeling. Perfect.

This lip shimmer is just under $5 and is perfect to keep lips healthy during the hot summer months. It also gives a nice red sheen, that looks like you just ate a cherry lollipop. Yum!

These are small and slim and are perfect for tucking into a pocket. They are hearty balms too, and I have noticed they do not melt super easy.

This is a warm orange/red which is flattering on warm tones and will look great with a tan!

I also love that this has a nice mint taste and smell. Perfect for those quick touch-ups!

Final Thoughts: A fan of the brand? Pick up this fun color!

Price: 8/10
Staying Power: 8/10
Packaging: 9/10
Color/Wearability: 9/10
Quality/Branding: 10/10
