Revlon Rich Girl Red: Swatches and Review

Red lipstick is my ultimate go-to and my ultimate weakness. But hey, a girl can never have too many, right?

Enter Revlon's Rich Girl Red...

First of all, I love the name (no surprise there), but something about it made me think it might be the ultimate red. You know...the one?

Well, let's see...

The packaging is very old school, but classy. The basic black tube gives way to a gold inner shell with the Revlon logo. You can find these lipsticks at Ulta or drugstores for around $7.

When it came time for my initial swatch, I eagerly pressed the pretty red lipstick to my hand and found it silky and slippery, but lacking pigment. Majorly. This is a back-and-forth of about 3 times to get this much pigment. Needless to say I was disappointed that the vampy siren red of my dreams was not in this tube.

But that doesn't mean this lipstick doesn't have it's merits, however small they may be. This is the Super Lustrous formula in the Shine category, so the ease of wear makes sense. And this is definitely not matte by any means. Overall, it is a really comfortable lipstick to wear but because of the slip it doesn't last long.

It is almost hard to believe that there is lipstick on these lips, but Rich Girl Red is on them, and I am very disappointed at the color payoff.

Definitely not the one.

Overall, if you are just getting into makeup and you want an easy-to-wear red, then maybe check this out. But if you are a veteran in beauty hauling, pass.

Mellow Wine is Just Fine

I know the title of this post is cheesy, but it made you smile right?

I haven't done a blush post in a while. In all honesty, I may have reviewed this color on my previous blog-space. But I love it so much it deserves attention again.

This is 'Mellow Wine' a Wet n Wild blush that was $3 and change. A super deal for a ton of pretty, dusty rose blush.

For a cheap drugstore brand, Wet n' Wild consistently puts out good, pigmented products. This is no longer teenager make-up in my opinion. Us grown women can use this too :)

In some lights it appears more orange/coral and in others it is a soft bubbly pink. Love. It just gives you a nice flush of color.

Final Thoughts: Looking for a natural flush of color on the cheap? Mellow Wine is for you!

Price: 10/10
Staying Power: 9/10
Packaging: 7/10
Color/Wearability: 10/10
Quality/Branding: 10/10

Total: 46/50 = A = Happy Panda
