Lancôme Grandiose Mascara Review

This review is long overdo, but that means that I have had over a month testing this mascara and finally have my thoughts in order.

Lancôme Grandiose mascara has a hefty price tag at $32. Is it worth it? Let's find out.

What It Claims
  • Swan neck to get to all lashes and make them bigger and fanned out
  • Deep black color
  • Long-lasting
  • Easy removal
  • Lasts for four months in tube instead of the usual three

First of all, the tube is gorgeous. It has been written about so many times by bloggers that I won't bore you, but it is a joy to use every morning and fits very comfortably in my hand.

To me, the wand is a bit shorter than most mascara wands because of the unique Swan Neck curve to it. But I do not think this is a gimmick. It takes a bit of a learning curve to use, but once you find your groove, you really can coat every lash and fan them out.

It has a really gorgeous, rich black color, holds curl fairly well for about 7 hours on me, and creates good length and volume. Is it the best my lashes have looked? No. But almost...

Why this is worth it to me
  • Stays all day and does not smudge (have worn in extreme heat and very rainy London 12 hour days)
  • Non-irritating and removes easily
  • My lashes look special and really good. Not too over the top, but more stand-out than average
  • I have not reached for another mascara to 'switch things up'

Therefore, $32 is worth it for me at this time. 32/4 = $8, which is what I normally spend on mascara per month anyway (having three-five drugstore mascaras that I switch between).

If you want to be loyal to one mascara, this is a good bang for your buck and I really do love it on my lashes. I think I will still look for my HG mascara, but for the next three months, this will be my one!

Have you tried it? Thoughts?

Lancôme La Laque Fever: Electric Pink

Every once in a while you come across a gloss that is just so gorgeous that it takes your breath away.
Lancôme La Laque Fever in Electric Pink is that gloss.

Everything about this gloss intrigued me...the dark hot pink color, the crazy amount of shimmer, the sleek packaging....it was love at first sight.

And another one of the amazing things about this product...the wand. It has a large petal-shaped brush that cups the lip and lets you apply product cleanly around the cupid's bow. Simple, but nice to have!

At $27, this is a pricy gloss, but it looks like you dipped your lips in glitter, and not in a teeny-bopper way, like a glam rock and roll way. I love it! The formula is thick and tacky, but it lasts forever on lips...about 5 hours, which is really long for a gloss on me. The glitter does migrate a bit, so it is important to prep with liner.

It sits on the lip beautifully and has high shine that really catches the eye. I am in love with this shade because it does glitter in a grown up way.

I think this will be a great color for fall coming up. It is comfortable to wear, as I don't mind the tackiness (think MAC) and it has a slightly sweet scent.

So happy that this gloss walked into my life!

Do you have La Laque Fever?

Lancôme Rouge in Love: Rose Emotion

I have wanted a Lancôme Rouge in Love for a long time, and I finally decided on the shade Rose Emotion

These have to be some of the most beautiful lipsticks I have ever seen. The tube is brushed silver with a glossy silver base and the Rouge in Love logo in cute red writing. The packaging is hefty and feels weighty in the hand, which I like.

The detailing up the side of the tube is so dainty, like little red stitches! For $26, you get major quality, and of course the Lancôme logo is embossed on the actual lipstick.

Rose Emotion is a very light, pale, cool-toned pink. It is the perfect 'mod' shade for lips if you are looking for something to pair with a smoky eye. This is high-potency, feather-light lip color according to Lancôme, and is supposed to last for 6 hours on lips.

There is a very light, sweet rose scent to the lipstick and it applies like a dream, truly feeling feather-light. Although the color is lighter than other options in the range, the payoff is still great.

Unfortunately, because this is such a comfortable formula, I don't feel it lasts as long as claimed. Maybe 3 hours, which is sad only because of the price factor. However, pulling this out of my purse every once in a while to reapply is no biggie because it makes a cute statement!

Overall, I am very happy with my Rouge in Love in Rose Emotion. A perfect nude pink shade! These are gorgeous, girly, luxury.
