Newly Reformulated Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

I have started to get more into skincare lately, and sometimes my normal moisturizer (Josie Maran) is a bit too heavy for daytime.

I used to HATE Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer. It did bizarre things to my skin. But now that they have a new, reformulated product and a gel as well, I thought I would try again.

And I am so glad I did!

I recently talked to a Clinique SA and she said that the gel is much better for oily/combo skin types such as mine and the new version doesn't have the lipids that my skin previously reacted badly to.

The formula is basically weightless on my skin and absorbs right away. The amount on my hand above is all I use for my whole face and I bring it down my neck. In the two weeks that I have been testing it, I have had no negative reaction, my skin is much less dry, and my texture seems to have improved (which is what Dramatically Different ultimately claims).

I apply this in the morning and sometimes at night. These 1.7oz tubes are $15 but they will last you at least a few months!

What are your experiences with Dramatically Different?

  1. Ahhh newly formulated nice, the old one didn't do much for me either. In fact I still have a bottle here that I don't use up :s how did your skin respond to it?

    1. For the old one, it made my skin itchy and get little tiny bumps. The new one is great on my skin!

  2. I use the gel as well, because the lotion is too rich for me. Loving the gel though, it's my go-to daily moisturizer.

  3. I think $15 is a decent price. I want to get a nice moisturizer for my mom. Her skin is tricky though - oily t-zone, but VERY dry otherwise. :-/ Do you think this would be a good fit for her? I love your reviews, Margo, to the point. In my attempts to write creatively, I always throw in a story or two. :) I think it's entertaining, though?! I have midterms right now. I know you're busy too. But want to get in touch w you soon so we can do some blogging endeavors together. :)

    1. I think this is worth a try for her Meesha. My skin used to be fully oily but now I am getting a little dry and this is perfect. I would say go to a Clinique counter and get a sample. I think it would be great for her but it may just lack a little in moisture for super dry skin. Thanks! I love your reviews!! So unlike mine, but to me they are so entertaining!!! I have midterms too but yes, lets talk soon!

  4. I got a sample for my daughter but she said it broke her out. :( I should try it though as it sounds like something I'd like for sure!

    1. Aww I feel like it might be a little much if she has really oily skin. I think its worth getting a sample of and testing though!

  5. Sounds like a nice moisturizer! I might have tried the old formula years ago in a skin care kit I had!

    1. Ya I felt like they gave the old one out in every kit! I'm sure you could probably get a sample of this somewhere!
